The 10.5" J Hook Super Hive Tool is a must-have for every beekeeper.
One end serves as a scraper for removing burr comb, cracking hive bodies apart, and prying open queen cages.
The J-hook end is used for creating leverage to break the propolis/wax bond and then assisting in lifting out the frames.
This is done by:
- Slipping the J Hook under the ear of a frame
- You then pull back on the tool and use the heel of the hive tool to leverage against the top bar of an adjacent frame.
- Repeat this step on the other end of the frame
- You then lift one ear of the frame with the J Hook and grab the frame with your free hand to remove it from the box.
